The sample is from a German religious recording from the 1960’s. I found an old single with an especially shadowy and foreboding image of Christ and was intrigued. I pushed down with my palm on the spinning surface until the sound became deep, dark, and halted. I took a 4 second chop of the most somber song from the record and used it as a canvas for synths, strings, and incandescent flashes of drums.
